Bernice
Osmond
Nov 8, 1938 — Jul 6, 2025
It is with profound sadness that the family of Bernice Osmond announce her peaceful passing at Legrow Health Centre on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the age of 86 years.
Bernice was born at Harbour Le Cou, NL to the late Llewelyn and Florence (nee Anderson) Gillam. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Saul (Solomon) Osmond, her father and mother-in-law Thomas and Violet (nee Walters) Osmond, infant son Robert Osmond, sisters Mariah (Charles) Clevett, Louise (Henry) Clarke, Olive Connors, brother Max Gillam, sisters-in-law Gertrude (Dorman) Warren, Charlotte (George) Anderson, Linda Gillam, and Ruth Piercey, brothers-in-law Jesse (Theresa) Osmond, Wilson Osmond, and Arthur (Frances) Osmond, and Walter Osmond.
She leaves to mourn, with many precious memories her sons Arthur (Wendy) Osmond of Port aux Basques NL and Glen (Marilyn) Osmond of Cambridge ON, and her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Terry Osmond and Carolyn Osmond.
Bernice also leaves to mourn her brothers Ivan (Ann) Gillam, Art Gillam, and Stan (Rena) Gillam, sister-in-law Gladys Osmond, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Bernice was a lady of great faith who loved her family, spoiled her grandchildren, loved a good game of cards or Saturday night bingo, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Although only a tiny lady, she was a mighty one and this phrase was used by nursing staff and the staff at the seniors home to describe her as they all loved her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas and Dr. Ghauri, the nursing staff at LeGrow Health Centre, and the staff at Mountain Hope Manor for the great care provided to Bernice.
Visitation will take place Wednesday July 9th 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port Aux Basques, 695-2300, www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Thursday July 10th at St. James' Anglican Church, Port Aux Basques, NL.
