It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Beatrice (Skeard) Gillam announce her sudden passing on Monday July 7th 2025 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL at the age of 74 years.

Born in Port Aux Basques, NL Beatrice was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nina Skeard (Anderson). She was also predeceased by her parents-in-law John and Gertrude Gillam.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 46 years, William Gillam; her daughters; Tara (Scott) Chant, Kim (Ed) Brown, Sabrina Downey; Grandchildren; Christina, Amanda, Brittany, Chelsea, Mackenzie, Tyson, Hannah, Graham, Avery; Great-Grand Children; Logan, Mila, Abi, Aubree; Sisters; Betty (Don) Downding, Sharon (Ken) Carter; brothers and sisters in-law Charlie (Della), Perry (Rhonda), Danny (Karen), Archie (Janice), Don (Yvonne), Gary (Kathy), Pauline (Rick), Amanda (Paul), Joanne; As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Beatrice was a vibrant soul whose warmth and laughter lit up every room she entered. Known for her generous heart and endless compassion, she found true joy in the simple things-- baking cookies for loved ones, sharing a glass of Newfie Duck Wine, and spending cherished time with her family. After retiring from years of devoted service at the hospital she found great pleasure in her part time job at the Legion where she thrived in the company of others and made lasting friendships. Whether lending a helping hand or sharing a story and a smile, she had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Forever young at heart, her spirit was as sweet as the treats she lovingly baked, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday July 12th at the Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle, Port Aux Basques, NL. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery.
