It is of great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Austin Parsons announces his passing away peacefully at his home in Rose Blanche NL on November 9 ^th , 2020 at the age of 74 years. Born in Rose Blanche NL, Austin was the son of the late John and Martha Parsons (nee Strickland) . He was predeceased by daughter; Cathy MacDonald, brothers; Clyde Parsons, Gordon Parsons, Ralph Parsons, Ronald Parsons and his sister; Susie Keeping.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his partner Ann Belong, his son; Willie (Joan Parsons) of Middle Sackville, NS and daughter; Walterine (Steven Faye) of Shelburne, NS. He also leaves to mourn his former spouse; Gloria Parsons of Halifax, NS, grandchildern; John MacDonald (Jennifer Taylor), Jessica Parsons, Johnny MacDonald, Kaylene MacDonald (Colin Bradley), Jordan Parsons (Bailee Ewing), g reat-grandchildren; Caden Quann, and Karlee MacDonald. He also leaves to mourn his brothers; John (Mabel) Parsons, William (Ann) Parsons, and s isters; Melita Best, Annie May Hayman (George) plus a wide circle of family and friends.

Austin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends singing and playing accordion or his guitar. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing darts and a good game of cards. He was a quiet man who enjoyed a simple life and his great smile will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Due to the current public health advisory of COVID-19, a viewing has taken place at East Haven Funeral Home. There will be a private family service on Wednesday , November 11 ^th , at 2 pm from East Haven Funeral Home officiated by The Rev. Canon Jeffrey Petten. I nterment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society .
