It is with great sadness that the family of the late Austin Mercer Bennett, announces his passing, at the New Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 77 years.

Born in Petites, Austin was the son of the late George and Hazel Bennett. He was also predeceased by brother George Jr.; sister Linda L and brother in law Rocky.

Austin was a fisherman for over 50 years, a hard worker and a good provider for his family. He was always ready to help family and friends when they needed it.

Austin leaves to mourn his wife, of fifty-seven years, Linda his two sons Austin Jr. and Terry and granddaughter Madison. His loss will also be felt by his sisters; Shirley, Bernice, Patsy and brothers Carl and Stan; sister in law Lorna, brothers in law; Gus, Stan and Bill, his mother in law Dorothy as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. Austin will be sadly missed by all.

In keeping with Austin's wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be brought to his final resting place at a later date.
