Annie Mary
White
Sep 28, 1940 — Nov 5, 2024
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Annie White, who left us peacefully on November 5th at the age of 84. Annie was the daughter of the late Lockland and Emily (Moore) MacDougall. Born at the Wreckhouse in St.Andrews, Codroy Valley, NL. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas White; her son Roddie; her siblings Kathleen (Caleb) Carter, Johnny (Christina), Martin (Verna), Lockie, Duncan, and Chesley; parent in-laws Placide and Catherine White, her brother and sister in-laws, Lucy (Billy) Blackwood, Mary (Rudy) Mullins, Dorthy (James) Doyle, Tillie (Remi) O'Neil, Hughie (Mary) White, Ida (Raymond) Downey, and Bill (Rita) White.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Annie touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, warmth, and infectious sense of humor. Annie leaves to mourn her children Joe (Donna), Pat (Sharon), Cathy (Keith Carter), and Ches; her grandchildren Duncan White, Justin (Amy) White, Meagan Carter, Daniel (Makalia) Carter, Jordan (Meagan) Carter, Emily (Mason) White, Jenny White, and Tahneen Samms; and her great grandchildren Walker, Lillian, Lochlan, Sage, Zoey and Wylie; her siblings Hughie (Mae), Kevin (Yvonne), Jim (Doreen), Vince (Brenda) and Francis (Tom); along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom had a special love for life's simple pleasures. She could often be found enjoying a good game of cards, where her competitive spirit and quick wit brought laughter and joy to every hand. She had a passion for a good joke, and would always leave you smiling long after. Mom's sweet tooth was legendary—whether it was homemade treats or a bar and can of Pepsi, she never turned down the opportunity for something sweet. Mom was also a talented cook, she had a knack for making every meal a feast, always welcoming friends, family, and strangers alike into her home with a plate of food and a warm heart. Her kitchen was always open, and no one ever left her table hungry or without a sense of being loved.
Mom's family was her world. Her legacy of love, laughter, and hospitality will live on in all of us. While we mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the countless memories she created with us, and in the joy she brought into our lives every single day. Rest in peace, Mom. You will be forever loved and missed.
The family would also like to say a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of the protective unit at Bay St. George Long Term Care Facility as well as the Staff of the North Unit, for their exceptional care and compassion over the last 2 years.
Annie's funeral service will be taking place at St. Ann's Parish Church in Upper Ferry, on November 24th at 11:00 Am with internment to follow at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery.
